about

This song, as the conclusion of the Aeon's story, is more of a departure from the previous two lyrically. The title, "Ajna" which was named by Conner, is the sixth primary chakra according to Hindu tradition. It's supposedly the "third eye", how dreams or this seen in the mind's eye are "seen". My interpretation of this for the lyrics is our ability to see our self-worth. In this case, in seeing our ability to succeed or our ability to fail. In the context of "Aeons", the main character comes to terms with what's happened and instead of seeing how far he can fall, in the end he sees his ability to do anything.

lyrics

Follow as a child
Led hand in hand by all our hopes and dreams
But no one is picking us up when we're pushed down
Hollow shell
Truth in disguise
On the headstone engrave my eyes
You're alone inside this mind
Carving pictures on the wall
No one saw what lies inside
The means to fall, the means to fall
Entombed in lies I sacrificed my own will
I can't control the sorrow wrought by your vicious words
You take for granted all the poetry that guides your life
While at last the silt you kicked in my face has dried
In the end, you were right
You're alone inside this mind
Carving pictures on the wall
No one saw what lies inside
The means to fall, the means to fall
Can't you see that I don't deserve this
Endless regret
Now damned together
For all these choices we made as one

[solo Conner Dugan]
[solo Wesley Wyatt]

You're alone inside this mind
Carving pictures on the wall
No one saw what lies inside
The means to breathe, to grasp it all
You're alone inside this mind
Carving pictures on the wall
No one saw what lies inside
The means to breathe, to grasp it all
